Lunch and Learn Film: “No Small Matter”
Film Screening and Panel Discussion with Filmmaker and Policy Experts
Alignment Rockford and Rockford Public Library invite you to join us for a lunch hour screening of No Small Matter followed by a panel discussion about the importance of early childhood education to our community. Light lunch will be available at noon.
No Small Matter is the first feature documentary to explore the most overlooked, underestimated, and powerful force for change in America today: early childhood education. Through poignant stories and surprising humor, the film lays out the overwhelming evidence for the importance of the first five years, and reveals how our failure to act on that evidence has resulted in an everyday crisis for American families, and a slow-motion catastrophe for the country.
Panel Discussion will be moderated by Reverend Matthew Johnson, Co-Lead of the Alignment Rockford Ready to Learn team will include: documentary filmmaker Danny Alpert, Director of “No Small Matter” and Executive Director of Kindling Group, Caitlyn Pusateri, Executive Director of the Rockford Area Chamber of Commerce and mother of young children, RPS 205 Executive Director of Early Childhood Kimberly Nelson, and Katherine Buchanan Illinois State Deputy Director at Ready Nation.
