Connecting Community with Alignment Rockford
At Alignment Rockford we enact systemic change by connecting organizations, businesses, and individuals to Rockford Public School District 205 goals and identified areas of community need.
RPS 205 HAS IDENTIFIED
the following major goals for improving student success and addressing COVID-related learning loss by 2024:
EARLY CHILDHOOD AND ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS
Goal
Establish a new baseline for 3rd grade literacy using Illinois Assessment of Readiness in the spring of 2021 and demonstrate annual progress toward five percentage points improvement by 2024.
Establish a new baseline for 3rd grade math using the Illinois Assessment of Readiness in the spring of 2021 and demonstrate annual progress toward five percentage points improvement by 2024.
Our Work
The Ready to Learn Early Childhood initiative addresses Kindergarten Readiness, one of the most important factors influencing the later 3rd grade literacy and math assessment scores.
Middle Schools
Goal
Build a middle school on-track tool for grades 6,7,8, establish a baseline rate for on-track and demonstrate annual progress toward five percentage points improvement by 2024.
Our Work
Alignment Rockford works directly with local organizations and businesses through RPS 205’s Live, Learn, Play initiative, which provides quality learning experiences for students outside the school day to address COVID-related learning loss and build academic success.
High Schools
Goal
Increase the district graduation rate and freshman on-track rate to 75% by 2024.
Our Work
Alignment Rockford led the way in launching and developing the College and Career Pathways program that is now a core curricular component of every RPS 205 high school student’s academic experience. The Pathways program prepares high school students for post-graduate success in academics or career-oriented fields.
