Count, Group and Compare with Your Preschooler

Note to parents and caregivers: Your preschooler needs a lot of fresh air and exercise! Taking walks together, playing in the yard, or going to the park are great opportunities to talk to your child. The outdoor world is rich with things to explore and discover.

Don’t forget to count, group and compare!

Activity: Leaf Exploration

Find two different kinds of leaves. For example, Oak leaves are thick, round and bumpy and Maple leaves are thin, serrated and pointed.

Pick up the leaves together and talk about the colors, texture, and shape. Collect several of both kinds and then sort and count them.
